Every SEASON in Jackman Maine offers new adventures for the outdoor enthusiast. Jackman Maine ATV trails are the best in New England along with Jackman Maine snowmobile trails and both offer easy access from your cabin. Fishing, boating, and swimming are just steps away in our backyard playground while hiking, hunting, or exploring the region are all within miles of your cabin. Or, if you prefer, just relaxing, step out onto your deck to watch an incredible sunset. You really can do it all when you stay at COZY COVE CABINS.
So, no matter what the season, after a hard day of play, come HOME to one of our warm comfortable cabins to relax and enjoy.
We have 9 cabins, each unique in both size and style which can accommodate from 2-6 people: a couple looking for a romantic get away, a family vacation of up to 6, friends looking for a great sporting weekend or your can rent out multiple cabins for a family reunion, a spiritual or nature retreat, or a wedding.
Each cabin has all the comforts and amenities of home including a full kitchen and all you need to make a great breakfast or a hearty supper, except the food of course. Our cabins are clean with fresh linens and towels provided.
Five cabins have decks overlooking the lake and some cabins have a glass/screen porch. Views of the lake and the incredible sunsets are possible from every cabin. You will never feel boxed in when you stay at our lakeside cabins. Staying at COZY COVE CABINS gives you the option to dine in, cook out on the grill but know, or sample some of the great restaurants in town just a short walk away.
Land-Locked Salmon, Brook Trout, Splake and lake trout are common fish in Big Wood Lake. Fishing possibilities include: trolling, casting, bait fishing, or fly casting. Boat or fish right off the Dock.
You can Canoe or Kayak for hours eploring Big Wood lake's many coves and streams. Paddle up Moose River to Attean Pond and you will find even more areas to explore plus state campsites to enjoy a picnic lunch.
In the Jackman – Moose River Region, you are sure to see these magnificent creatures especially if you go at the right time of day (they are crepuscular) and know where to look.
Enjoy miles of groomed snowmobile trails through the spectacular scenery of the North Woods all accessible from your cabin door. Ride the ITS 89 to Canada, connect to ITS 88 to Rockwood, or to ITS 86 to Greenville and beyond.
You can fish for Togue, Salmon, Trout or Cusk right outside your cabin on Big Wood Lake. By January 1st, the lake is usually covered with 3 feet of ice and the best month to catch that "record breaking" fish.
The Jackman-Moose river region has miles of marked trails that lead to breathtaking views atop mountains. Don't forget your camera as you are sure to see one of the abundant wildlife.
It is good to finally see snow on the mountains. Over the weekend, we got some decent snowfall. In town, maybe 6-8 inches but in the higher elevations, there was more. Club trails around us say they started to groom or pan the trails on Monday. ...

COZY COVE CABINS has 293 feet of shore on Big Wood Lake offering plenty of space to lie in the sun, swim in the lake, fish off the dock, or take a boat for a ride.
The lake itself is 6 1/2 miles long and 2 1/2 miles wide, and connects to other Ponds via the Moose River. The surrounding rivers, streams and ponds offer any type of fishing (trolling, casting, bait) or boating (motor, canoe, Kayak, PWC) experiences your heart may desire.
And when the ice freezes, fishing is right outside your cabin on Big Wood Lake. January seems to be the best month for ice fishing for Salmon, Trout, Splake and Cusk but many anglers do very well throughout the winter months.
